Yibin Station on the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway

The Yibin Station Square project of the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway is located in Xuzhou District, Yibin, Sichuan, with a total investment of 5.063 billion yuan and a planned area of 980 mu (307.8 mu for Phase I). It is a core transportation hub project in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. The project features a four-level three-dimensional transportation system with 9,500 parking spaces, enabling seamless transfers between high-speed rail, metro, and bus services. It also includes a 220,000 m² commercial complex, a 36,000 m² art exhibition center, and a headquarters economic zone, along with talent apartments and a 120,000 m² urban green park, achieving a green coverage rate of 68%. The design deeply integrates bamboo culture, with the art exhibition center using 7,000 steel structures to simulate a "bamboo shoot" form, and the main building featuring a 56-meter cantilever, making it the world's longest building inspired by the Mamenchisaurus fossil. The project adopts sponge city concepts and integrates wetland ecosystems. As of early 2026, the main structure has been fully topped out, curtain wall installation exceeds 90%, and municipal and interior works are progressing steadily. The commercial area is scheduled for full operation in June 2025, with the entire project coming into service in October. Upon completion, it will serve over 10 million visitors annually, helping Yibin's southern area emerge as a new urban center in southern Sichuan.
