Project Background:
Shanghai East Hospital (affiliated with Tongji University) was founded in 1920. It is a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, prevention, and emergency services. It has two major campuses—the Lujiazui headquarters (South Campus) and the Expo Park area (North Campus)—with a total floor area exceeding 300,000 square meters and an average daily outpatient volume of over 10,000 visits. In recent years, driven by the upgrade of medical technologies, the introduction of large-scale equipment (such as MRI, CT, linear accelerators, DSA, and other heavy imaging and radiotherapy devices), the continuous growth of patient flow, and the nation's steadily increasing standards for medical building safety, the hospital's existing structures are facing severe challenges. Through this systematic and precise structural reinforcement and intelligent upgrading, Shanghai East Hospital not only effectively eliminates safety hazards but also significantly enhances the safety resilience and functional adaptability of its medical spaces.
