The renovation project for the Nanjing Gulou Hospital Xuzhuang scientific research and education facilities is located within the Xuzhuang Software Park (No. 699-18 Xuanwu Avenue, Xuanwu District, Nanjing). With a total investment of RMB 123 million, the project is being developed on behalf of the hospital by Nanjing Anju Affordable Housing Construction and Development Co., Ltd. The project involves the comprehensive renovation of three existing buildings—Buildings 33, 35, and 37—with a total floor area of ​​31,264.9 square meters. These buildings are being reconfigured into three major scientific research facilities: Building 33 is being converted into a Medical Laboratory Animal Center (7,798 m²); Building 35 is being developed into a Collaborative Innovation and Translational Research Building (9,755 m²); and Building 37 is being constructed as a Medical Research Building (13,711 m²). The facilities will house core functions such as Principal Investigator (PI) laboratories, shared research platforms, academic lecture halls, and exhibition areas. The scope of work includes structural reinforcement, laboratory purification (with a dedicated investment of RMB 50.62 million), mechanical and electrical installation, information systems, and rooftop landscaping, with a construction period of 180 calendar days. A consortium led by Nanjing Guohao Decoration and Installation Engineering Co., Ltd. won the construction bid in July 2024. The project is currently proceeding according to schedule; upon completion, it will significantly enhance the hospital's capacity for scientific research and translational work, thereby supporting the development of national key disciplines.
