Project Background:
Shanghai Ningguo Road Wharf is located on the east side of Ningguo Road in Yangpu District along the Huangpu River. It is one of Shanghai's important ferry terminals, undertaking the critical functions of connecting Pudong and Puxi, serving daily commuter travel, and supporting tourism transportation. The wharf was originally built in the 1980s, with its main structure being a reinforced concrete high-piled beam-slab wharf. After more than 40 years of operation, under the long-term effects of high-frequency vessel berthing, water flow scouring, tidal action, and the complex hydrological environment of the Huangpu River, the structural performance has significantly degraded. According to design requirements, Grade I carbon fiber sheets are applied to the bottom of the wharf structure between the tidal levels.
