Project Background:
Shanghai International Shipping Center Yangshan Deep-Water Port, located on the Shengsi Archipelago off the mouth of Hangzhou Bay, is one of the world's largest and most highly automated container ports, and a core hub of the national "Belt and Road" initiative and the Yangtze River Delta integrated development strategy. Since the first phase was put into operation in 2005, Yangshan Port has completed four phases of terminals, forming a modern deep-water port area with an annual throughput capacity exceeding 24 million TEUs. Its main structures include high-piled beam-slab wharves, large prestressed concrete pipe pile foundations, automated rail beam systems, and the supporting Donghai Bridge project connecting to the land area, all of which have long been exposed to extreme marine service environments characterized by high salt spray, strong winds and waves, tidal scouring, and high-frequency operation of heavy-load equipment. Through this systematic reinforcement and smart operation and maintenance upgrade, the Yangshan Deep-Water Port will, while ensuring long-term structural safety and stability, continue to consolidate its core position as a global shipping hub, providing solid support for the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and the high-quality development of Chinese-style modern ports.
