Project Background:
As an important transportation hub, docks have a significant impact on human economic and political life. Therefore, the reinforcement and maintenance of docks are of great importance. The key to this Shuimen Wharf renovation project lies in ensuring that the structural reinforcement is properly implemented without leaving any hidden risks, and that it meets the requirements for normal operation and future use. The reinforcement methods must not only consider whether the structural strength, such as bearing capacity, meets the requirements, but also take into account durability—specifically, in tidal wet-dry cyclic environments, factors such as cracking and exposed reinforcement in the dock can accelerate rebar corrosion and other adverse effects. Based on an analysis of the existing structural system of Shuimen Wharf, combined with natural conditions including water levels, currents, and geological factors, the relevant parties have formulated a scientific and reasonable reinforcement plan, implementing carbon fiber sheet bonding reinforcement and anchoring reinforcement (rebar planting) for Shuimen Wharf. For newly developed cracks with a width greater than or equal to 0.2 mm, carbon fiber repair methods are adopted; for cracks smaller than 0.2 mm, epoxy pressure grouting is used.
