Tianjin Port Nanjiang Port Area Petrochemical Terminal, originally built in the 1980s and expanded multiple times thereafter, features predominantly high-piled beam-slab or gravity caisson structures. Although its design standards were advanced at the time, the terminal has long been exposed to a complex and demanding environment characterized by highly corrosive media (oil products, seawater, chemical vapors), frequent berthing of heavy-load vessels, extreme climatic conditions (strong winds, freezing, and salt spray in the Bohai Bay), and high seismic fortification requirements. To firmly uphold the safety red line in production, ensure the smooth flow of national energy transportation corridors, and support Tianjin Port's goal of becoming a "world-class green, intelligent, and hub port," systematic and precise maintenance and reinforcement of the aging petrochemical terminal in the Nanjiang Port Area are urgently needed.
