Project Background:
Three on the Bund, originally built in 1916, is one of the earliest modern high-rise buildings in the Shanghai Bund historical and cultural area to adopt a reinforced concrete frame structure. As an outstanding historical building in Shanghai and an important part of the Bund's "Exhibition of World Architecture," the building has experienced gradual structural performance degradation over more than a century of use due to long-term loads, environmental erosion, and multiple interior alterations. Through this reinforcement, Three on the Bund will, while ensuring the safety of the cultural heritage structure, continue to serve as an important carrier of Shanghai's urban culture and economic vitality, exemplifying the exemplary value of "developing through preservation and inheriting through development" in historical building conservation.
