Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant

Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is located on the coast of the Bohai Sea in Wafangdian, Dalian, and is the first nuclear power plant in Northeast China and one of the largest nuclear power bases in operation in the country. The units have long operated in a high salt spray, high humidity, and marine corrosive environment. As the units have been in operation for an increasing number of years, and with refueling outages, system retrofits, equipment updates, and structural durability management progressing, some concrete structures—including circulating water structures, equipment foundations, maintenance platforms, pipe supports, and tower foundations—have experienced embedded component failure, localized deterioration, and the need for new equipment anchorage. To strictly meet nuclear safety standards, restore structural load-bearing capacity and durability, anchoring reinforcement (rebar planting) has been carried out during outage windows, using nuclear-grade specialized materials and nuclear-grade construction quality control to ensure the long-term safe and stable operation of the units.
