Project Background
The Oriental Pearl Radio & Television Tower was completed in 1994 with a height of 468 meters. It is a landmark super high-rise building in Shanghai and an important symbol of China's reform and opening-up. After more than 30 years of wind and rain erosion, temperature cycling, air pollution and frequent tourist loads, the concrete structure of the tower has suffered aging problems such as microcracks, risks of steel bar corrosion and local weathering and spalling, bringing potential safety hazards. To guarantee structural safety, extend service life and prepare for major urban events (such as the China International Import Expo and Spring Festival Gala outdoor shooting), the property owner launched a systematic structural inspection, reinforcement and renovation project. Relying on its technical experience in super high-rise building reinforcement and reliable product performance, Shanghai HORSE Construction Technology Co., Ltd. was selected as the core material supplier for the reinforcement project of the Oriental Pearl Tower.
