Project Location:

Project Background:
Mercedes-Benz Arena (formerly Shanghai Expo Cultural Center) is located in the core area of the Expo Park, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, adjacent to the Huangpu River. It is one of the permanent venues of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Since its completion, the arena has hosted more than one hundred large-scale events every year, including NBA China Games, top concerts and e-sports finals. Subjected to combined impacts such as high-frequency and high-density crowd loads, vibration from hoisting heavy stage equipment, extreme weather conditions (typhoons, heavy rains, high temperature and high humidity), as well as high salt fog corrosion near the river, some structural members have shown signs of accumulated fatigue and performance degradation. Through this scientific and elaborate reinforcement project as well as smart operation and maintenance upgrading, Mercedes-Benz Arena will continue to serve audiences worldwide with the highest safety standards and consolidate its strategic position as a core landmark of Shanghai, an international cultural metropolis.
