Project Background:
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, as a core hub of the world-class airport cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and a key national "14th Five-Year Plan" transportation infrastructure project, operates with a "five runways, three terminals" configuration following the completion of its third-phase expansion. Its annual passenger throughput peaks at over 100 million and cargo throughput exceeds 6 million tons. With continuously rising operational loads, frequent extreme weather events, and the need for integration with underground transportation hubs, existing facilities face multiple challenges including pavement settlement, insufficient structural wind resistance, and special geological disturbances. To ensure aviation safety, strengthen hub operational resilience, and support the integrated development of "air-rail intermodal" transportation, the airport has launched a comprehensive engineering reinforcement project across the entire site. Adhering to the core principles of "technological innovation for breakthrough, precision control for quality enhancement, and collaborative operation for efficiency," it aims to set a benchmark for reinforcement and renovation of super-large airports worldwide.
