Beijing-Shanghai Expressway (G2).
-
Project Location:
Jiangsu
-
Project Background:
As a vital component of China's north-south transportation artery, the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway has long undertaken high-intensity, high-density traffic flow since its opening, playing a critical role in promoting regional economic development and strengthening intercity connectivity. With increasing years of operation, some bridge structures, under the long-term effects of complex environmental conditions and heavy freight traffic, have developed deterioration issues such as concrete carbonation, reinforcement corrosion, bearing aging, crack propagation, and reduced load-bearing capacity. To ensure the operational safety of the entire Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, enhance the service performance of infrastructure, extend bridge service life, and adapt to new demands of future traffic development, it is urgently necessary to conduct systematic testing and assessment, as well as maintenance and reinforcement, for bridges with structural safety risks or performance degradation.
