Wuhu

Since its opening to traffic in 2012, the S28 Wuyan Expressway, as an important interprovincial corridor connecting Wuhu City in Anhui Province and Gaochun District in Jiangsu Province, has been carrying growing traffic flow between the southeastern Anhui region and the core Yangtze River Delta area. With increasing years of operation, combined with continuously rising traffic volumes and a growing proportion of heavy freight vehicles, some bridges and structures along the route have developed varying degrees of deterioration, including concrete cracking, reinforcement corrosion, bearing aging, expansion joint damage, and fatigue damage to bridge deck paving layers. It is urgently necessary to conduct systematic testing and assessment, as well as targeted reinforcement and maintenance, for bridges and ancillary facilities along the line that exhibit performance degradation or structural defects.
