Wuxi-Yixing Expressway

The Wuxi-Yixing Expressway is a vital component of Jiangsu Province's expressway network, specifically the "Horizontal 9" Taicang–Gaochun corridor. This reconstruction and expansion project starts from the north side of Xueyan Hub, passes through Wujin District of Changzhou City and Yixing City of Wuxi City, and ends at Xiwu Hub, with a total route length of 35.735 kilometers. The project involves the reconstruction and expansion of six interchanges—Xueyan Hub, Caoqiao Interchange, Wanshi Hub, Qiting Interchange, Yixing West Interchange, and Xiwu Hub—as well as the Yixing Service Area. Construction commenced in full in January 2024 and is scheduled for completion in November of this year.

In the future, the Wuxi-Yixing Expressway will serve as an even more important external connection corridor for Yixing. Southward, it connects to the Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway for direct access to Hangzhou; northward, it links to Changzhou and Zhenjiang; and eastward, it connects to Shanghai, Wuxi, and Suzhou. In the future, after the Wuxi-Yixing Expressway is connected with the Wuxi-Taicang Expressway, it will also become a convenient passage from Yixing to Shanghai, further promoting Yixing's integration into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
