Project Background:
Wusong Wharf is located in the Wusongkou area of Baoshan District, Shanghai, at the confluence of the Huangpu River and the Yangtze River. It is an important water transportation gateway and historical shipping hub in northern Shanghai. This area includes multiple functional terminals such as Wusong Passenger Terminal, Vehicle Ferry Terminal, and Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, which have long undertaken tasks including passenger transport, vehicle ferrying, and international cruise ship berthing. Among them, some older terminal facilities were built in the 1980s and 1990s, primarily featuring high-piled beam-slab structures. After decades of high-intensity operation, under the combined effects of complex hydrological conditions and heavy-load traffic, they have developed varying degrees of performance degradation. To support the high-quality development of Wusong Innovation City and implement the Ministry of Transport's deployment on "enhancing the resilience of port infrastructure," systematic structural safety assessment and precise reinforcement of Wusong Wharf are urgently needed.
