Project Background:
The Xiangbei Wind-Storage Integrated Wind Farm Phase I Project in Xiangzhou is located in Huangji Town, Xiangzhou District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province. It has a total installed capacity of 100 MW, using 40 wind turbine units with a single-unit capacity of 2.5 MW, and is equipped with a 10 MW/10 MWh electrochemical energy storage system to achieve integrated "wind power + energy storage" operation. The project includes a new 220 kV booster station in Xiasanwang Village, Huangji Town, connected to the Niushou Substation via a 220 kV overhead transmission line. The site is adjacent to the G55 Erguang Expressway, G70 Fuyin Expressway, and G316 National Highway, offering excellent transportation access. The total project investment is 735 million yuan, with a construction period of 12 months. It passed the completion acceptance planning condition verification on March 14, 2025, marking the full completion and readiness for operation of the main project. The project is expected to generate approximately 217 million kWh annually, saving 66,000 tons of standard coal and reducing CO₂ emissions by about 179,000 tons per year. It is a demonstrative project in Hubei Province for implementing the grid-parity wind power policy and promoting the coordinated development of new energy and energy storage.
