Project Background:
The Runyang Bridge, located on the western side of Zhenjiang and Yangzhou cities in Jiangsu Province, is the largest-scale, highest-construction-standard, and most technically complex extra-large bridge project in China's highway construction history, combining suspension, cable-stayed, and prestressed concrete continuous girder systems. It is an important component of Jiangsu Province's "four vertical, four horizontal, and four connecting" highway main framework and the trans-Yangtze River highway corridor planning. It is approximately 100 km west of Nanjing and about 300 km east of Shanghai. Since its completion, the relevant authorities have conducted annual inspections to ensure traffic safety. During these inspections, it was found that due to high traffic volume, the bridge has long been in a state of eccentric loading. Additionally, as service years increase, the bridge structure itself has sustained certain damage and defects, with cracks appearing on some deck sections, necessitating reinforcement construction.
